November 23 2007 Bluemont, VA ED/iT's Aviation Products Division announces a revolutionaly concept in aviation charting and safety. Our eSectionals^tm Limited Edition provided pilots one Sectional for a full year for an ANNUAL subscription fee of $14.95. Our new service changes this Limited Edition into eSectionals HOMEBASE Edition.

eSectionals HOMEBASE Edition removes the ANNUAL $14.95 subscription fee with a ONE TIME $15 software Licensing fee. After installing the software, the pilot selects and downloads their "HOME BASE Sectional". From that day foward, until the end of their flying career, they will be able to download their "Home Base Sectional" at no cost. For 75% of General Aviation pilots, this may be the only chart they ever use and they never have to purchase the paper version again. The HomeBase Edition permits a pilot to purchase additional Sectionals for $5 and Terminal Area Charts (with VFR Flyways) for $4 (half the cost of paper). And, unlike pilot shops with inventory, if a pilot is about to purchase a Sectional or TAC that is about to expire, it is provided at HALF PRICE. Why are we taking this beating? We're pilots too and are doing our best to provide FAA Legal Charts at a reasonable price. But eSectionals is not just "charts".

Our eSectionals^tm software uses high-resolution digital charts provided to us directly from the FAA's National Aeronautical Charting Office. eSectionals is a powerfull and aviation dedicated product enabling the pilot to measure distance and course with a simple mouse click. Drawing a route within or across multiple charts is easy. After drawing a route, the pilot can use either the Automatic or Manual TripKit Build feature which steps along the route, extracting "frames" containing the route and then can print a TripKit. No more folding four foot charts in flight. They can also export the TripKit to any PDA for in-flight viewing.

Version 3 add a database of over 5,500 Airports organized by State and City. We've added a Find Latitude/Longitude feature to quickly located a point on any Chart. The Toolbar now includes an "Adjacent Sectional Chart Display" showing all the Charts that surround the current Chart. This new features makes selecting an adjacent Chart quicker than pulling down the USA or Alaksa map to find a Chart.

This new version now includes both Constant Heading (aka Rhumbline math) AND Great Circle Routing; great for Students as a learning aid. And, after the Pilot draws a route, a popup dialog not only tabulates route leg distance and course, but also lists the names of Sectionals containing parts of the route.

We've made the Build Automatic TripKit feature significantly faster and now includes a frame by frame progress display. In addition, the TripKit Editor Cut&Paste feature now automatically selects the map parts.

In addition to these major features, over 30 minor improvements. For example, the Lat/Lon Overlay (a feature that puts latitude and longitude lines over the "printed" black dashed lines now include choice of color and thickness. We made chart downloading much more convenient permitting the pilot select an array of charts instead of downloading one at a time. Many new features were suggested by our customers.

Version 3 is a major upgrade adding many new features as part of the $99.95 annual subscription fee.

March 1 2006 ED/iT Releases eSectionals^tm USA Edition

eSectionals^tm is a PC software subscription service providing the Pilot with high resolution digital versions of paper charts. The software includes every Sectional and Terminal Area Chart in the USA and Alaska plus Hawaii and Puerto Rico.

Pilots can measure distance and course with the flick of the mouse. But the major activity is ability to draw a route and then print a paper TripKit. The TripKit is generated by creating "frames" or pages that step along the route. Thus, instead of folding a four foot chart in-flight, he/she has a neatly organized TripKit on their kneeboard to simply flip pages as the route progresses.

The $99.95 annual subscription fee begins with a DVD containing all the current charts. Then, every 28 days, they download the FAA updates from our server. The equivalent cost of paper charts from Sporty's is $814.

Certainly, most pilots do not need this extensive coverage. We are planning to release a "LIMITED Edition" for $24.95 where the pilot then pays only $4 for a Sectional or $3 for a Terminal Area Chart as needed.
